THE CHAIRMAN:
Sir Syed College of Medical Sciences has been established with a view to setting up a “Centre of Excellence" in medical education. The sponsors are committed to founding an institution, which would provide medical education of finest quality in Pakistan and also contribute toward character building of the students. In order to produce competent professionals, having strong academic background, eager and able to meet the challenges offered by the new millennium, the first step towards achieving this objective is to ensure merit-based admissions.
Establishing a medical college exclusively for girls is to fill-up a major gap in the medical education in the megapolis of Karachi, where there is no other college catering solely female students, who comprise more than 50% of the population. This college, infact is the first of its kind in the private sector in Pakistan.
I am pleased, to state here that we have well qualified faculty members, having vast teaching experiences, almost all of them had been heads of departments in their institutions. With the help of learned and dedicated members of the faculty, specialised research and extension of academic programmes would be organised.
We want to accomplish our mission by hard work, dedication of faculty members and faith in Almighty Allah. |

Sir Syed College the students to nurture there own them for the all-important role they will Medical profession is different form other professions in the sense that one has to deal with human beings. People come with hope and the best reward, which one can get, is the smile on the face of patients expressing gratitude. The road to getting the status of a "Mesiha" is a difficult one. It requires devotion, dedication and hard work, but above all is the commitment.
Those of you who shall have the opportunity of being selected shall see for themselves that what this institution is persevering for to train doctors, with a difference. Very rightly defined by the World Health Organization as a "five star” doctor who is a good Communicator, good Manager, good Care-provider, good Decision-maker and a good Leader. But nothing can be achieved single handedly; we cannot succeed in this endeavor without your cooperation. Try to feel the "Azmat” of your profession and prove yourself worthy of it by accepting the challenge.
I have great pleasure to announce that our 4th batch of MBBS students have passed out this year and already won laurels from the institution where they are employed. |
